Martin is a barista at our Pankrác location — and it’s safe to say he’s become one of the faces of Pilot there. If you stop by for your morning coffee, there’s a good chance he’ll be the one welcoming you, with a smile, calm energy, and often a perfectly crafted latte.

He joined Pilot by a bit of coincidence — one connection, one conversation — and now it’s been over two years since he became part of the crew.

What he loves most about the job? The people. Not only the team behind the bar, but also the regular guests who have gradually become friends. Martin is the kind of barista who remembers your usual order… and genuinely cares about what’s new in your life. He enjoys listening to guests’ stories — maybe that’s why people naturally stay for a few extra words at his bar.

His morning ritual is simple: a flat white before opening. Without it, the day simply doesn’t start.

A typical day at the café? “I don’t have one,” he says. Every day is different. Sometimes a calm morning, sometimes operational turbulence from open to close.

Guest interactions are a chapter of their own. Once, a customer seriously asked him if he was a Buddhist because he radiates such calm energy.

Outside of work, he creates graphic design, boxes, and plays badminton… And he has a very practical superpower — especially in hospitality: he can fall asleep anywhere, under any conditions.

Since childhood, he’s also been a huge Formula 1 fan. Speed, focus, and precision excite him just as much as working behind the bar.

His walk-in soundtrack? After Party by Don Toliver. A track that switches him into work mode faster than the first shot of espresso.

And his motto? “Don’t mistake kindness for weakness.”

Martin is calm during the morning rush, confident behind the bar, and one of the people who give Pilot Cafe Pankrác its face.
