They say that behind every successful man, there\u2019s a woman. In the case of our captain couple, that\u2019s certainly true. Since the very first takeoff of our caf\u00e9, Martin\u2019s wife, Kate\u0159ina Smejkalov\u00e1 \u2013 also known as Mac\u00edkov\u00e1, has been setting the course alongside him. As she says with a smile, \u201cit\u2019s kind of grown on me\u201d \u2014 just like Pilot Caf\u00e9 itself.<\/p>\n

She was there from the very beginning. \u201cI still remember the first cup and the first croissant,\u201d she says with a smile. Her experience in gastronomy, management skills, and sense for atmosphere helped the caf\u00e9 gain the right altitude for a successful takeoff. While Martin was handling construction work and paperwork, Kate\u0159ina brought balance, energy, and a human touch to the project.<\/p>\n

Today, she\u2019s piloting another, equally demanding crew \u2014 three little teammates on a maternity mission. Yet whenever she gets the chance, she rejoins the flight. Whether as part of the onboard crew or simply as a keen observer, she happily watches the caf\u00e9 live its own life. \u201cIt\u2019s close to my heart,\u201d she says.<\/p>\n

What she enjoys most about her work is that no two days are the same. The caf\u00e9 is an endless source of stories \u2014 from cheerful moments with guests to truly bizarre requests. \u201cA cappuccino without milk? In a caf\u00e9, you quickly learn that imagination knows no limits,\u201d she laughs.<\/p>\n

Her daily flight plan used to run on cappuccino, but these days she prefers matcha latte. \u201cIt suits the pace I have with the kids better,\u201d she explains. No matter what\u2019s in her cup, the most important thing for her is the atmosphere on board \u2014 good vibes, smiling guests, and a crew that sticks together.<\/p>\n

Outside the caf\u00e9, Kate\u0159ina recharges in silence \u2014 while running, practicing yoga, or simply taking a moment to tune out the noise around her. \u201cIt might surprise people, but calm is really important to me,\u201d she admits.<\/p>\n

Her superpower is clear at first glance \u2014 effortlessly navigating family life, home, and the caf\u00e9s without ever losing her smile. She jokingly says it must be \u201csome kind of super strength.\u201d And many entrepreneurial moms would surely agree. And if she ever decided to hang up her Pilot Caf\u00e9 captain\u2019s hat? She\u2019d land somewhere close to nature \u2014 perhaps as a gardener. \u201cThat idea has always appealed to me,\u201d she adds.<\/p>\n

Thanks to Captain Kate\u0159ina, Pilot Caf\u00e9 maintains not only a steady flight altitude but also a human touch \u2014 turning an ordinary coffee stop into a small journey beyond the everyday.<\/p>\n<\/div>
